Success Stories: the 2017 winners are recognized

Last year, dozens of projects and initiatives made a difference at the AMAGGI units. Sixteen of these were approved by the Sustainability area and competed for the 2017 Success Cases.

In the High Impact Unit category, the winning project was “The use of ashes as an alternative to organic fertilization”, an initiative of employee Jéferson Trovão, Boiler Coordinator at the Itacoatiara (AM) unit, with the support of Sustainability multiplier Silvia Batista.

The winning project in the Medium Impact Unit category was “Savings in digital archiving”, an initiative of Marcos Aquino, Assistant Auditor at the Headquarters in Cuiabá (Mato Grosso), with the support of Sustainability multiplier Wesle Pessoa.

The winners’ recognition ceremony took place on March 23 at the Sebrae Sustainability Center in Cuiabá. The Corporate Sustainability team, Sustainability analysts from the units, and employees from the Corporate Tax area at the Headquarters participated.

During the event, the winners presented their success stories to their colleagues in more detail. The AMAGGI Director of Sustainability, Communication and Compliance Juliana Lopes delivered the trophies to the winners and certificates of recognition to those responsible for cases registered and approved in all the criteria of the public notice.

01 cinzaTo demonstrate the beneficial effects of the ashes generated in the Co-generation unit (generating energy and steam from biomass) as an organic fertilizer alternative and in its use for paving of the branch’s internal roads, enabling the use of the residues in a sustainable manner.

arquivamentoOptimizing the process of filing Purchase Orders (PC) of the Supplies area and in this manner reducing costs for the entire company, as well as minimizing the environmental impact of this activity.
